It was first released by Sierra Studios on November 19, 1998. The player takes the perspective of scientist Gordon Freeman. Designed for Microsoft Windows, the game uses a heavily modified version of the Quake engine, called GoldSrc. There are several mods based on Half-Life, including Counter-Strike.
To be able to make others things on your mac while playing, use Cmd + Tab to go to an other app opened. When you want to return in game, you have to be sure you are placed in an other tab than CS:GO, Cmd + Tab and go to anything else than CS:GO. Then, move you'r mouse to the windows on the bottom right near the trash, Cmd + Tab, go to CS:GO, then clik on the windows (which is CS:GO reduced).
This works at any times. If you open the windows directly you won't be able to shoot (actually you'll need to click two times each shoot.). About server list problems, sometimes Shift + Tab two times make the mouse works again, sometimes you'll have to restart the game. If you followed the first advice for returning to cs:go, server list should be clickable. First of all, you are a serious player and don't want your aim make crazy♥♥♥♥♥♥when you turn 100° or more angle.
For this, -In CS:GO options, put raw data ON and mouse acceleration OFF AND -In mac terminal, write: defaults write.GlobalPreferences com.apple.mouse.scaling -1 and restart you'r computer. This disable mouse acceleration.
So far it looks to be sufficient for me, if you have any good remarks please put in comments. All third party software (unless you'r mouse have a designed one for Mac), looks to be unnecessary or even ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Things to know: -When you modify in mac os setting you'r mouse settings, acceleration came back.
You have to re-run the command bellow. Imac 27' mid 2010 with intel 760 and ati 5750: Working. Comment: 1024x768 with full low: constant around 80-120 fps but some times with a lot of smokes and battle under 30fps. Macbook Pro Retina 13', early 2015, 2,7 GHz Intel Core i5, Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 Mo, 8 Go 1867 MHz DDR3, CS:GO with LOW SETTING.
Comment: It works, although it will be difficult to play on all servers, and to enjoy very fast 1vsX battles. It runs at 60fps most of the times, while being at more 20/30 fps in fast battle. You'll enjoy playing occasionally CS:GO, can perform, but about very fast deathmatch, you'r low FPS while make you default. Macbook Pro with dedicated graphic card: The game should works basically. It should be ok - Old Macbook / Macbook Pro / Macbook Air with poor CPU and no dedicated graphic card: NO WAY.
Just buy a pc.Last IMac with nvidia / amd graphics: Should works good. Comments of the comments: - If you are thinking about buying CS:GO for playing on a Macbook Air (a basic one), or a Macbook NOT PRO, don't. The game will be unplayable.
You can try Counter Strike: Source, but this is an old game, with less and less players and servers. Last problem I fixed it's the 'Caps Lock to walk' problem. It looks like they are fixing it right now but today CAPSLOCK still not work for walk even if pushed in CS:GO Steam Keyboard Settings. You'll thanks me a lot. Go to System Preference - Keyboard - Modify Keys.
And Assign (if you don't use it in game) Alt to CAPSLOCK. Then return in CS:GO Keyboard settings and put 'Alt' for Walk. As CAPSLOCK is now assigned to Alt, you'll be able to Walk Using CAPSLOCK! Personally, 600hrs of gaming without never walk because of this problem.:-) Please, rate this guide, 5 Stars, Comment If you liked, contribute if you want in the comments.
See other thread in steam guide about 'what pc for cs go' it explain that cs:go is only using 5 core so you don't need more. So if you have less than 5 core (check cpu specs, it's not the iX things, it's an other spec, again, check the guide) it could be an improvement. The better is to check review of people having a gpu close to you'rs and see what games they can play with. But i really think updating cpu is the best to do, since csgo is still a cpu based game.

You should run FULL LOW and upgrade cpu, if you'r cpu is not 5 cores.
